Overview
This site highlights the professional attitude of the band Jazz Conspiracy; the Chicago skyline in the header graphic hints at the bands' roots. Many colors were experimented with, and a vibrant orange was chosen as the backdrop, bringing the skyline to life and matching the warm tones of Aynsley Floyd's photography. Many of the site's interactive features were inspired by the band's emphasis on being a group of unique inviduals who share equal input to the music they create. For marketing purposes, the site is appealing to clients ranging from corporations to wedding planners—even the bar down the street. It has also set the tone for printed materials.
The site has an interactive blog feature that allows band members to post their thoughts, and for site visitors to comment on them - much like an on-line dialog. When a band member posts a new thought, or comments on one already posted, their picture "icon" shows up next to it, allowing visitors to put a face with the voice. This was accomplished using a customized installation of the Movable Type Publishing Platform.
